Library Association Memberships

The Four Star Public Library maintains active memberships in several professional library associations to enhance its services, stay updated on industry best practices, and collaborate with other libraries. As a member of the Illinois Library Association (ILA), the library gains access to advocacy, professional development, and networking opportunities within the state. It also participates in the Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS), a cooperative system that supports resource sharing, delivery services, and training for libraries across Illinois. Additionally, the library is part of the Resource Sharing Alliance (RSA), a consortium that facilitates interlibrary loans and shared catalog services, allowing patrons to access a wider range of materials.

On a national level, Four Star Public Library holds membership in the American Library Association (ALA), the largest library organization in the world, which provides essential resources, guidelines, and advocacy efforts to support library innovation and growth. Through these partnerships, the library ensures that its patrons receive the highest quality services, materials, and programs.
