Inter-Library Loan
Need a book, audiobook, or DVD that’s not in our collection? No problem! Our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service connects you with hundreds of libraries, giving you access to a vast selection of materials beyond our shelves. This collaborative system allows you to request items easily, expanding your reading and research possibilities.
How it Works:
- Search the Four Star Public Library Catalog for an item.
- If it is unavailable, click "Place Hold" and enter your library card number and PIN.
- Verify the Pickup Library is the Four Star Public Library and click "Place Hold".
- Most items arrive within 1-3 weeks.
- Four Star Public Library will call the phone number associated with your card to notify you that your item(s) have arrived.
- ShoutBomb app will send a text message to the number associated with your card, if you are signed up for messages.
- Return item(s) to the Four Star Public Library.
Renewals and Returns
Materials from the Inter Library Loan Program are checked out for 21 days at a time, renewal policies are dependent upon the lending library's renewal policies. Returns should be made to the Four Star Public Library who will process the return and assure it gets transported back to its home library.
